April 2026

 April Hours: 10 Hours

Total Spring Hours: 26 Hours

This past month was very busy for me, from celebrating my great-niece’s 1st birthday to completing three presentations in the final weeks of school, attending the French Quarter Festival, and supporting my other niece at her dance competition. While it was a hectic time, it was also very fulfilling.

My favorite moments were putting together care packages with my classmates for a homeless shelter that I volunteer at with Freestanding Communities. Experiences like this reminded me of the importance of giving back and staying connected to the community. I also volunteered at a local garden, which was both fun and meaningful as I’ve recently been trying to focus more on healthier habits. Learning how to grow my own food gave me a new appreciation for the process and the effort behind it.

Spending time with my peers outside the classroom, such as attending crawfish boils together, was also something I truly enjoyed. These moments helped strengthen our connections beyond academics.

Overall, this program has been a rewarding experience for me. It has challenged me, helped me grow, and allowed me to build meaningful relationships. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it and for everything I’ve learned along the way.
